It is always said that one should not step into two boats at the same time. But at times, we have to do two tasks at one time. Multitasking can be difficult but it will save your time as well. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar helps you in learning to multitask.
When you decide to do a number of tasks at the same time generally the reason behind it is the limited time available to you. To overcome the time obstacle you decide to multitask. Before you start doing a number of things at the same time, you should have a clear picture in your mind about how much work you can do. You should not take up something which is not possible or will completely exhaust you. Prevention is better than cure. Don’t take up tasks that you won’t be able to complete and will regret later.
Your tasks should be differentiated on the basis of urgency and importance. You can place the tasks under categories namely important and urgent, important but not urgent, urgent but not important, and not important and not urgent.
Since you are doing a number of tasks at the same time you should focus completely on the work you do. Eliminate all the noise and the objects that can distract you from the work whereas music can help you refreshing a bit and isn’t a bad distraction.
Multitasking can be difficult and you should plan the work accordingly. You should choose the tasks that are similar in nature at the same time to lessen the stress on your mind. Doing two completely different tasks at the same time will completely exhaust you.
Take breaks in between your work to avoid any damage to your mental health. Never skip meals in between your working hours. Taking a 10-15 minutes break after every hour to refresh yourself.
Plan your time and the tasks before starting your work so that you can work in a smooth way.
