Improving mindfulness by Rubina Ratnakar

Mindfulness refers to a state of mind when we are completely focusing on the task we are doing. It symbolizes no distractions at the time of doing something and doing it with whole heart and mind. Once you start being more mindful about everything, you will see astonishing results in your daily life. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar suggests some ways which help you in improving mindfulness.

Focusing on one single thing is very difficult in our lives these days. There are so many distractions all around to pull you back from giving cent percent attention to one single task. One of those biggest distractions is a mobile phone. Even if we are eating or studying or working or watching our favorite movie, our mobile phone is in our hands to distract us from everything with those frequent notifications. So, your first step should be limiting your phone time and not doing anything on your phone while doing any task.

Meditation is a great way to keep your mind at peace. Even 10 minutes of meditation daily can help you become more mindful and will strengthen your physical health as well.

One way of improving mindfulness is to do the work with absolute care and at a slower speed. You should not do things in a hurry. Refrain yourself from multitasking as well. Mindfulness is focusing on one certain thing completely and multitasking is a big pullback in attaining a peaceful mindset.

Go out for a walk and enjoy nature. When you will go out and look at the beautiful plants and flowers around, you will cherish their beauty as it is not a part of your work or routine. It will calm your mind and make it get used to silence and serenity.

Mindfulness is focusing on every task you do now and then. You should start right from the time you wake up. Making your bed, brushing your teeth, bathing, eating breakfast, and commuting to work, all should be done with complete attention and you will see the magic and the smoothness of the tasks being done.

Life skills are of utmost importance to live a good and easy life. Rubina Ratnakar writes about ‘Becoming socially responsible‘ in her latest blog. Check out our blog on ‘Getting rid of dark circles‘ for some great advice on skincare.
