There are around 7.8 billion people in the world, all with different mindsets and different personalities. Different people can react to the same situation in different ways. Some people are good at handling their problems and tense situations while some may find it difficult to handle and would break down. Anger is one of the emotions a person can show when things get stressful. Anger can sometimes go out of our control and our behavior may be harmful to us and others. Rubina Ratnakar lists some ways of controlling anger and escaping tense situations.

Your first step to handle your anger in any situation should be thinking before you say anything. Our anger may make us say things that we don’t mean and may regret later. So it is better to stay quiet for a while when you are angry.

It is very important to control your anger to not do anything wrong in the heat of the moment. Physical exercise is a great way to distract yourself and escape problematic behavior. Do something that you really enjoy doing. Try to calm yourself as soon as possible.

Humor is another very effective way to ease out the stress. Even difficult situations can be handled if we think about them in another way. So, stay in a joyous and good mood and try to find out the humor in the situation.

Your peace of mind and mindset say a lot about your personality. You need to tell yourself that the situations are temporary and will get better. Always keep in mind that if there is a problem with you or around you, you have the potential to solve it. Try to find out solutions for the problems you are facing.

Communication of your feelings to the person who is responsible for your anger is very important. Once you are in a relaxed mood, tell the person how you felt about his behavior and how upset you are with his or her behavior.
