In today’s world, it is difficult to find someone who thinks exactly like you do and perceives all the things happening around you in the same way as you do. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar suggests some great ways to adjust ourselves according to the situation and accepting other’s perspectives.
When it comes to handling our relationships with the people around us, it is important for us to accept the people the way they are. Always try to understand what others want to say and their point of view on a certain topic. Whenever a person talks about a problem going on in his/her life with you, you should try to think about the topic in their way. Don’t force them to think your way and make them feel they are doing something wrong. All of our minds work differently. We can’t expect similar responses from different people.
Keep the fact in mind that if there was no difference between the people everywhere, how boring everything would get. We may sometimes feel uncomfortable with those differences and try to avoid those people. So, one of the things we should be doing is to stop avoiding those people and try to know them better.
Being able to accept others for who they are will change your way of handling things completely. Showing empathy to others is an important life skill. While giving advice to someone or putting in your point you should think carefully and give a thoughtful opinion.
When taking steps towards empathy, there are some things you need to avoid completely. Stop being judgemental and stop comparing others with you or someone else. Respect that every person is unique and you can not expect someone to behave your way.
Do not judge a book by its cover. Believe that every person is going through his own journey and is facing some challenges in their life. It would be a great change in your life when you will start dealing with everything with a more empathetic approach.
