Well-being as a working parent by Rubina Ratnakar

Parenting is one of the life skills everyone has to learn with time. In today’s world, people have to give equal importance to their work as well. A working parent almost gets stuck between their children and their work, getting no time to care for themselves. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar lists some steps that one can take to maintain their well-being as a working parent.

It is good to value your work and love your kid the most, but it is also important to care for yourself as well. You need to take out some time for yourself as well. The everyday tasks are not going to finish and you will have to reserve time for yourself to maintain your physical and mental health. Take out some time for doing recreational activities like Yoga and meditation. It can be quite difficult to look after your mental health. Make a timetable and assign a slot for your rest time and your sleeping time.

Making a timetable will help you in leading a better lifestyle. If you complete the work in the assigned time slot, you will see the difference. Divide the time into different slots involving all the important tasks of the day. If you are a working parent then you should manage the time before and after your working hours wisely. Make sure you give an adequate amount of time to your family and yourself as well.

Try to get your tasks done by someone else to reduce the burden on you. For example, you can order groceries, medicines, essentials, clothes, and other materials that can be ordered online. This will save the time that you had to spend on going to the market and shopping.

A couple needs to work as a team when they become parents. Divide the tasks between both of you if you want to work things out in a smooth way. A child needs proper attention at an early age, make sure you rock the parenting role!
