Increasing credibility by Rubina Ratnakar

It takes a lot of effort to make someone believe in you and consider you as a trustworthy person. One mistake or one step is capable of ruining your reputation which you may never get back. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar lists some ways of increasing credibility.

First of all, you have to stop pleasing everyone and just be yourself. Don’t try to make people like you. Let them like you for who you are. Never alter your personality to attract someone or please someone. In today’s world, people like genuine and real people more than people trying to be perfect.

If you are good at something, know your value. Do not let people take you for granted. If you know your worth and stay confident about yourself, no one will ever try to take advantage of you. Also, they will start respecting you. No one likes a person who is not confident about himself and doesn’t like himself in the first place.

Deep knowledge and research is another thing everyone should have in order to increase their knowledge. If you lack knowledge of a certain area, you are more likely to be lost in the matter and you will often feel trapped. So, if you know about everything you are going to do and work diligently on your tasks, people automatically start believing in you.

The next suggestion is a life skill as well. Always listen carefully when someone is talking to you. Do not ignore anyone and try to snub them or end their talks in between. This is a very annoying habit of most people when they don’t listen to others. You should always hear carefully, consider all the facts, and then respond.

Always try to help people and make the whole team succeed instead of just trying to win yourself. People don’t like too much competitive people as they are concerned about their victory only. So, you should try to be a supporter rather than a hero. People will trust you only if you are not self-centered and care about everyone.
