We spend a lot of time outside our home, working with different people, or communicating with people we are not related to. When there is distance in communication, there are some other ways in which information passes from one person to another. To give it a definite term, it is called gossip. Some people love to talk and chat all the time. Whereas some may get irritated on hearing gossips and rumors around them. Don’t worry, if you are one of them. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar lists some ways of escaping gossips and keeping yourself out of all this.

The easiest way to escape gossips is to cut yourself from the situation. Excuse yourself politely instead of adding fuel to fire. If you hear anything about anybody, do not add your personal knowledge to the discussion. If you just back out from the mess, people around you will understand that you are not interested in those kinds of discussions.

It is no bad to have a little chit-chat with your workmates when you are really tired. After all, you cannot completely avoid talking to anyone. So, it is better to set some boundaries about the things you talk about. Do not go with the flow and keep on gossipping about someone you don’t know properly. Even if your friends are talking about someone, do not slip your comments into the topic and get into trouble.

The next thing you can do is to bring the people closer. When people know each other very closely, they don’t gossip about each other. So, just host a pizza party or any get-together for your workmates and give them time to bond with each other. In this way, they will not gossip and build healthy relationships with each other. If you find something wrong, take an initiative and make things right.
