Self-esteem is what you think about yourself and your capabilities. Some people may not see the good in themselves. It is mostly due to failure in life and due to situations when they were not able to fulfill their own expectation in life. A person may face a number of problems when having low self-esteem. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar suggests some ways of improving self-esteem and becoming a better person.
The first thing you need to do is to start thinking about the positive side of your personality. Start building an optimistic mindset. Look at every problem in a positive way and with the idea of solving it. Do not think any less of yourself.
The people you surround yourself with will determine the positivity in your life. If you surround yourself with people that do not empower you and criticize you all the time, you cannot expect positivity and growth. Surround yourself with people who say good things about you and support you in getting better.
Another very important thing is to learn to say no to things. If you already have a lot of work to do, you should not take up any other tasks that will cause you a lot of trouble. People may ask for your help, but you need to put your foot down and say no to them.
One way of building self-esteem is taking care of your health. Your physical health is a great determinant of your mental health as well. A person who is taking a good diet, doing exercise daily, and has good immunity will be confident about him and have higher self-esteem.
Since you feel low about yourself, one way of improving your perception about you is to take up some challenge. Do something that you have not done before. Once you complete that work or challenge, you will feel a lot better about yourself.
