Do you ever wake up in the morning and instead of feeling fresh you feel tired and want to go back to bed? Do you wake up and see that all your body is aching and it is feeling extremely comfortable? Well, this is all due to the fact that you are not sleeping in the right way. There is something wrong with your sleep that is leading to problems when you wake up rather than feeling fresh in the morning. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar lists some sleep hygiene techniques that everyone should use in their life.

The first thing you should do is to maintain a regular sleeping schedule. You should fix the time when you go to bed and the time you wake up in the morning. If you want to take an afternoon nap, you should fix a time for that as well. Maintaining a continuous sleep cycle will help in getting a good quality of sleep.

You should avoid lying in your bed awake thinking about nothing. This is one of the reasons behind your disturbed sleep. If your body falls into the habit of lying in the bed for no reason, it is probable that you may not be able to sleep when you try to sleep at night.

You should avoid drinking caffeinated drinks that can alter your sleep. You should neither have drinks that will make you fall asleep nor you should rely on some drinks that will keep you awake for a long time. Such drinks can be the reason behind spoiling your sleep cycle.

Your bedroom and mattress should be comfortable as well. A good and comfortable mattress along with the vibe of the bedroom to be sleep-promoting is one of the sleep hygiene techniques.

You should try to keep distractions such as TV, out from your room. Make a separate room for such activities and keep your bedroom for sleeping only. This creates a vibe in the room that will promote timely sleep.
